Oblique aerial photograph taken by a Consolidated Liberator of No. 86 Squadron RAF, showing the 2,700-ton German blockade runner ALSTERUFER, dead in the water in the Bay of Biscay, following an attack with bombs and rocket projectiles by a Liberator of No. 311 (Czechoslovak) Squadron RAF had left her seriously damaged and on fire. She finally sank one hour after this photograph was taken.
