English: A crowd of onlookers, including children holding the flags of Siam and Denmark, watch as the East Asiatic Company ship SS Birma, carrying Prince Valdemar, is guided up the Chao Phraya River during the Prince's visit to Siam in 1906/07. Original caption: S.S. Birma, an East Asiatic Co. steamboat. The ship was built in 1894 and was originally named S.S. Arudel Castle. Renamed Mitau in 1913. In 1919 the East Asiatic Co. bought it. Renamed in S.S. Burma, and used as a cargo and passenger ship between Siam and Europe.
